Check Cin7 Core supplier prices before re-importing a CSV.

A bulk price edit is easiest to catch while it is still a file. Cin7 Core documents an export, edit and re-import workflow for Product Prices by Supplier. Keep the original export unchanged, save a separate proposed version, and review the difference before importing it.

PriceTern is an independent comparison tool, not a Cin7 integration. It does not change Cin7 records or prepare a Cin7 import file.

Use the same supplier and product key in both files

Cin7's export can contain prices for multiple suppliers. Work with one supplier at a time. Choose the same stable Product SKU or Supplier SKU field in both files, preserve leading zeroes, and check that the selected code identifies only one row in each file. If codes repeat across suppliers or the revised file uses different identifiers, stop and resolve the mapping before trusting a comparison.

Do not mix fixed and latest prices

Cin7's Product Prices by Supplier report distinguishes Fixed Price, the price defined by the supplier, from Latest Price, the price on the most recent purchase invoice before discount. If you edited Fixed Price, map Fixed Price in both files. Comparing it with Latest Price would measure two different things, not a supplier-price change. Keep the supplier currency and tax basis consistent too.

Review before the import

  1. Export Product Prices by Supplier from Cin7 Core and retain an untouched copy.
  2. Edit a separate copy using Cin7's required CSV layout. Do not change its required headings.
  3. Compare the original and proposed copies in PriceTern, mapping the same product-code field and the same price field in both.
  4. Review increases, decreases, added or removed rows, duplicates and invalid prices against the source rows.
  5. Return to Cin7 Core with your own checked import file; PriceTern's review workbook is not an import file.

Check the system instructions before you upload

Follow Cin7 Core's current supplier-price export and import instructions and report field definitions for their fields and upload steps. PriceTern only checks changes in the files you select; it cannot validate Cin7 permissions, currency rules, tax treatment, supplier identity or whether an import will succeed.
