GET A RELIABLE COMPARISON

Start with the same supplier. End with fewer surprises.

1. Prepare the two lists

Use CSV or unencrypted XLSX, with headers in the first row and one product per row. Maximum: 5 MiB per file, 10,000 product rows and 100 columns. Workbooks are limited to 20 sheets and 32 MiB expanded size. PDF, old XLS and macro-enabled files are not supported.

2. Check the column mapping

SKU means the supplier's product identifier. Codes are matched exactly after trimming surrounding spaces: leading zeros, punctuation and letter case matter. Numeric Excel product codes are flagged for review because their original formatting may have been lost. Re-export those codes as text.

Choose the price column and decimal format. Prices must be non-negative, without currency symbols or thousands separators, with at most six decimal places. A blank or invalid price is not treated as zero.

3. Choose the right comparison basis

Without pack mapping, PriceTern compares listed prices. With pack quantity mapped on both lists, it compares listed price divided by units per pack. Quantities must be positive whole numbers. This only makes sense when the base unit is the same: a litre is not a kilogram.

4. Review the exceptions

Duplicate or missing product identifiers, invalid prices, formula cells and unsupported values are retained as review rows. No fuzzy matching or formula execution occurs. Added and removed products are shown separately. Percentage change from a zero starting price is undefined.

5. Keep the evidence

Download the XLSX report for source file, sheet and row references. Clearing or refreshing this preview discards the workspace. Saved account history is not available yet.
